Dear Colleagues
In the coming weeks, Deakin will commence its major review of the existing academic workload allocation models (WAMS), as agreed under the 2023 Enterprise Agreement.
As part of this process, the university will consult academic staff subject to the models to determine how the model can be redesigned to ensure all staff have sufficient and reasonable time to perform their work.
Your input is essential in helping us to redesign models that work for everyone.
The Deakin NTEU Branch has mandated representation on the committees. Our reps will gather your views and build a body of evidence about what works and what doesn’t work in the existing models so we can take your experiences into the review process.
We welcome input from all staff, whether you are a current or future NTEU member!
Surveys
We are conducting surveys about how the current workload model works for you. This data is vital in understanding where the priority areas are for change.
Town Halls
We will also be conducting faculty-based town hall meetings for people to raise more complex issues and to ensure your union representatives fully understand your views.
