Dear colleagues,
We are writing this email to all RMIT Training staff.
You have gone without any pay increases in 2020 and 2021.
You have supported Training in the good times (when significant profits were given to your parent company-RMIT) and the bad times (COVID). All other staff at RMIT received pay increases during 2020 and 2021- you did not!!
Your last enterprise agreement expired in 2019. It has taken Training management 4 years to offer you a new one.
The NTEU says what they are offering you now is an insult to the years of hard work (good times and bad) where you have shown support for your students and RMIT Training.
Management are offering you only 11% wage increase over three years; no changes to your workload; no additional allocations for teachers to do marking work; no real changes to classification levels for corporate staff; no matching of superannuation to other employees at RMIT; no increase in leave (sick, carers, partner leave) and no ongoing jobs for casual staff.
The NTEU says this management agreement is unfair and will leave you worse off over the next three years.
The NTEU wants staff at Training to be treated as equals, to have:
· Wage increases that at least match inflation (15% increase over three years)
· Personal (sick) leave of 15 days
· Automatic annual incremental increases up classifications for corporate staff
· Additional marking allocation/time for teachers
· Superannuation that matches other RMIT employees- 17%
· Redundancy payments and job transfers that match other RMIT employees.
The NTEU says staff at Training deserve better and we will fight for these conditions with you.
You will have received a voting paper which will ask you if you support the management enterprise agreement.
DO NOT ACCEPT THIS OFFER
VOTE NO
A ’NO’ vote means the NTEU will be seeking a return to bargaining in pursuit of a quick settlement to see that Training staff get better conditions and wages.
We are working for all Training staff.
