Back to the Bargaining Table

Dear colleague,

The result of the RMIT Training ballot for a new enterprise agreement was a resounding ‘NO.’

You have voted to reject the very low wage offer, the limited change in workload conditions and the lack of parity in superannuation and leave with other RMIT staff.

You went without wage increases during 2020 and 2021; have struggled under teaching workloads throughout the last four years; have had no classification changes; and scant regard has been given to First People’s employment or parity of leave and superannuation with other RMIT staff.

The NTEU believes that your wages and conditions must reflect the important work you do and must be equal to other RMIT staff across the many diverse workplaces of RMIT. We have and will continue to bargain hard for these things and push for parity of conditions across RMIT through common clauses in a single agreement.

It is time for RMIT Training management to come back to the bargaining table and work with the NTEU and Training staff.

The NTEU has written to the RMIT Training CEO demanding a quick return to the bargaining table so that agreement on these matters can be reached.

Your wages and conditions must be addressed now!

Regards,

Dr. Tricia McLaughlin
RMIT NTEU President
