Dear colleagues We welcome today’s message from the Vice-Chancellor signalling her wish to reach a new Enterprise Agreement quickly and constructively. The end of semester and the summer break are approaching and our union, the NTEU, will continue developing our claims for a new Agreement. To allow staff to participate, NTEU members will meet early in Semester 1 next year to vote on our claims, when everyone has returned to campus and can participate fully. In the meantime, we’ve let se ...Continue Reading

Dear University of Melbourne colleagues It may surprise you that our current Enterprise Agreement expires in just over six months. The NTEU is ready. We believe our future should be built together – openly, democratically and with genuine participation of staff. We don’t want bargaining to drag out again. T ...Continue Reading

Dear colleague, The NTEU's [1]third periodic report into university wage theft, released today, makes for sickening reading. Wage theft at our public universities is now on track to exceed $382 million. This appalling figure shows the contempt highly paid vice-chancellors and their senior executives show towards staff. Union members banding together have recovered millions of dollars in backpay. In fact, the total amount recovered or in the process of being repaid is now more than ...Continue Reading
