Noticed your
4% pay rise???

Dear Colleague,

You should now have your 4% pay rise as of June 30 in your most recent pay.

The pay rise is part of the improvement in working conditions which NTEU members worked together to achieve at Deakin University in our Enterprise Agreement.

It shows that when we stand together, we can make a real difference.

This 4% is the second instalment of a total of 12% pay rise over the life of our Enterprise Agreement secured by NTEU members.

And the good news doesn't end with pay. The agreements also lock in:

  • Improved job security provisions
  • Right to disconnect outside working hours
  • Strengthened academic freedom rights
  • Commitments to increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment
  • Paid gender affirmation leave

In addition to these achievements in bargaining, additional rights around the right to disconnect and access to more secure employment have been achieved through the lobbying and campaigning work of the NTEU nationally.

If you are employed in a form of insecure employment (casual or fixed-term employment) and would like to know more about accessing secure employment, contact us here

While these are important improvements in formal rights, NTEU at Deakin University is committed to ensuring that staff are able to access these benefits. For this reason we are working to ensure that Deakin University management complies with our enterprise agreement/s and delivers what they agreed to with staff.

The NTEU is the union for all University of Adelaide staff. We have tens of thousands of members across the country working together to ensure fair and equitable workplaces. Find out more about our campaign for Better Universities here.

In union,

Dr Damien Cahill
General Secretary
NTEU
